Lehman et al. (2018)
Journal Article
"The results of this study provide evidence that a standards-based grading system, as opposed to a traditional-based grading system, is more closely aligned with the results of the Scholastic Math Inventory standardized test. This finding is important for leaders of K-12 mathematical instruction, for leaders of higher education mathematical instruction, and for policymakers of mathematical instruction because it adds to the argument that a standards-based approach to grading should replace the traditional approach to grading" (p.12-13).
Freschette (2017) Dissertation
"Results showed that students felt more motivated to reach mastery on identified standards, were more aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and felt that their classrooms were more student-centered under a standards-based approach" (p. ii).

Knight & Cooper (2019) Journal Article
"Findings indicated that despite some infidelity and an initial implementation dip, systemic (Standards-Based Grading) changes made teaching clearer, more purposeful, and more conducive to student needs while enhancing student growth mindset and ownership" (Abstract).
Munoz & Guskey (2015) Journal Article
"Making clear connections between standards, assessment, grading, and reporting that are concisely reported work for the betterment of ALL students" (p. 64).
