The Why
Did you know that taking a total break from books over the summer can cause students to lose reading progress they made during the school year? The great news is that keeping those reading muscles strong is easy and fun to do! To leap ahead into 4th/5th grade, all students are required to read over the summer. Whether it’s a gripping mystery, a graphic novel, a fun fiction, or a deep dive into something historical, the goal is simply to find books that spark excitement or curiousity.
Remember, you can read in many different ways! You can read independently, with a friend/family member, listen to an audiobook, or even start up a book club. We can't wait to hear all about your literary adventures in August! Check out the resource tab for an optional note-taking page to aid you in remembering your books.
