I selected a course, but I’m not really sure it is the right course for me. What should I do?
Contact writingplacement@arizona.edu and we'll help you figure this out.
I don’t have my official AP/IB exam scores yet, but I want to take WRIT 109H.
Anybody can choose to take WRIT 109H, so even if you don’t have/know your scores, you can take this course. Contact us at writingplacement@arizona.edu if you want to change your course selection.
I reported non-Arizona dual enrollment coursework. What happens next?
A Writing Placement Advisor will contact you - via your university email - to let you know if the course(s) you reported can satisfy our Foundations Writing requirement(s). Make sure you check your university email regularly!
I have an English exam (AP/IB/CLEP) that is eligible for WRIT 101 credit. What should I do?
Have your official scores sent to the University of Arizona Registrar.
My status is “In Review.” How long will it take for my iFWE to be reviewed and I receive my final placement?
Writing Placement Advisors review iFWE responses as we receive them, but because two advisors must review your response before a final placement is determined, it could take up to two weeks for your placement to be updated.
Note: Due to system updates, we do not actively review iFWE responses from September through November and February through April.
I have taken an AP/IB exam. Can I receive Foundations Writing credit for my exam score?
The university accepts Advanced Placement (AP) English Literature and Composition or English Language and Composition exams (score 4 or 5), OR IB English (Language and Literature) Higher Level exams (score 5 or higher), for WRIT 101 credit.
