The Human Services program stands with our students, colleagues, community, and our nation against hate, social injustice, and racism. We will listen, learn, and advocate for an inclusive community and promote social justice through our voices and actions. We reaffirm our commitment to embrace diversity and diverse opinions and treat all people with respect.

Welcome to the Human Services Resource Site.

The navigation bar at the top of this page will take you to information on the Human Services Orientation, Internship, and Capstone requirements. Resources are provided to support your coursework. Linked below, you will find a copy of the program handbook, an academic road map (course sequencing), elective course options, and requirements for the human services minor. You will also find links to a number of professional organizations and to UA Career Development.

Plan of Study:
Please contact the Human Services Program Director with questions about course sequencing and/or your plan of study. It is very important to complete your courses in the correct sequence to ensure you are skill-building successively and cumulatively and that you are not overloaded in your final semester. BEFORE heading into your senior year, set up a meeting with the Program Director to discuss your senior year plan of study, workload, and timing of HUSV 498: Senior Capstone.

Internships: It is never too early to start thinking about your internship placement. Contact Dr. Buck to discuss placement ideas, and your internship goals. Review the internship process, and meet with Dr. Buck during the semester before you plan to complete HUSV 493: Internship.

For students admitted to the Human Services program for the Spring 2022 semester (and beyond) - please request a meeting with Dr. Buck to document prior learning experiences.

All internship paperwork must be complete, signed by you and your field supervisor, and approved by Dr. Buck before you can be enrolled.
