Advancing Educational Solutions and Inspiring Doctoral Journeys through Innovations in Research Training
We're putting on a Pathways conference!
Advancing Educational Solutions and Inspiring Doctoral Journeys through Innovations in Research Training
Important Dates! The submission form was open through February 10 for most sessions and until March 1 for posters!
Previous call: We are actively seeking presentations to empower attendees with knowledge and inspire action. Join us in creating a dynamic learning experience by leading a facilitated discussion, conducting a hands-on workshop, delivering a concise paper presentation, showcasing your work in a poster session, or collaborating in a thought-provoking think tank. Explore the options below and submit your proposal in the format that best suits your content and goals.
Facilitated Discussion (50 min.)
Facilitated discussions offer a brief overview of a specific topic and is then moderated by the presenter for the remainder of the session. Presenters are encouraged to begin discussions with brief presentations and discussion questions on their topic to encourage successful and informed attendee participation.
Paper Presentation (10 min. each)
Paper presentation sessions will have multiple presenters, who will each have 10 minutes to present on their work. Each session is encouraged to reserve time at the end of their slot to allow for questions or comments from attendees.
Multiple presentations will be put together by organizers to make a 50 min. session.
Think Tank (50 min.)
Think Tanks are an opportunity for presenters to share and discuss early stage research in a supportive environment. It is a platform to offer constructive feedback and engage in thought-provoking discussions with colleagues. By nurturing early-stage research, think tanks play a crucial role in fostering innovation, encouraging collaboration, and shaping future research agendas.
Workshop (50 min.)
Workshops offer a dynamic and participatory experience where attendees actively engage with the content and each other. These sessions should involve exercises designed to encourage collaboration and exploration.
Poster Presentation
At this time, we are nailing down our platform which will determine whether the poster sessions are 'live' or asynchronous. We will specify format and method as soon as we're sure of the details!
Who Can Submit?
Presenters MUST be a current or previous Pathways Fellow (aka Alumni).
Proposals can be submitted by individuals or groups of Fellows.

Abstract: 300-400 words summarizing your presentation.
Clearly state your preferred presentation format (Facilitated Discussion, Workshop, Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, or Think Tank).*
For group submissions, clearly indicate co-authors and any contributors who provided intellectual support.
For each Author, include names as each would like to be listed in program material, pathways affiliation (years of participation) - if applicable, and current affiliation.
*Reviewers may suggest a different format based on your content and the Summit needs.
Important Considerations:
We encourage the sharing of research, projects, ideas, or topics that may have been explored in other venues or are intended for future presentations. However, your Pathways Summit contribution should offer a fresh perspective or unique angle. Here are some ways to meet this criteria:
Share preliminary findings instead of complete results.
Focus on a specific aspect or a new perspective of your research.
Highlight recent updates or developments since your last presentation.
Discuss potential future directions or applications.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your proposal is well-received and increases your chances of being selected to present at the Pathways Summit 2025!
Fellowship is essential: Only current and former Pathways Fellows are eligible to submit proposals.
Collaboration is encouraged: Work with fellow Fellows and acknowledge their contributions.
Uniqueness is key: Ensure your presentation offers a fresh perspective, even if the material has been shared before.
Clarity is crucial: A well-written abstract that clearly outlines your presentation will increase your chances of acceptance.
