Apply
The UROC application process can be complex, so we've provided a brief (1 min 10 sec) video overview of the AWARDSS and UROC programs below.
Prepare
We recommend you review the application on the website first, and return to fill it out once you have developed responses to some of the open-ended questions. The application will ask you for the information you may want to prepare before starting to fill it out, including but not limited to:
Demographic, enrollment, degree, and financial aid information
Graduate education intentions including where you may apply, what for, and if you intend to take a break between degrees (if so, how long it would be and what you intend to do with that time)
Prior experience (academic, work, research, etc.)
Short personal statements (background, research interests while at UROC, plans for graduate school, and hopes for the UROC program)

Specific 2024 cohort Eligibility Requirements

You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0+. (overall, major, or graduate degree)
You must meet one of the following criteria regarding academic status:

Be within 5 years of having received a Bachelor's degree, or
Be currently enrolled in a Master's degree program with a graduation date of no sooner than December 2023.
Finally, you will also be asked to explain how a group you belong to is considered underrepresented in graduate education, as these programs are designed to provide pathways to this level of education.
If you can answer that question and meet the above criteria - this program is for you!
