After creating value scales to learn about the different drawing pencils and working with different pressures with the pencils we worked on creating some abstract art by practicing shading with transitions from light to dark. We learned about different ways to shade, but practiced with smooth shading. This was just a one day mini project for practice so many students did not complete their whole paper. I picked some examples of ones that really showed some nice shading techniques that we learned. Everyone's style is a little different.
