Knights Foundations is a course designed to help students transition into John H. Glenn High School seamlessly while developing essential skills necessary for life after High School. In this half year course, you will learn about the JGHS staff, available resources, high school expectations, and how to become the strongest version of yourself!
Students are expected to:
Complete assignments thoughtfully and to the best of their ability.
Submit work by the assigned deadline.
Check the class website and/or Google Classroom regularly for assignments and due dates.
Come to class prepared with completed assignments when applicable.
Ask questions and seek help when they do not understand an assignment or concept.
I understand that unexpected circumstances can happen. Students who are unable to complete an assignment on time should communicate with me as soon as possible.
Ten (10) points are taken off each day assigned work is missing. Students are responsible for completing missed work and checking for any changes to upcoming assignments or deadlines.
A missing assignment is the student's responsibility to address. Students should check the class website and/or Google Classroom to identify missing work and communicate with me if they need clarification or support.
Assignments should demonstrate genuine effort and understanding. Completing an assignment simply to receive credit is not the goal. Students should use this as an opportunity to practice skills, strengthen their understanding, and prepare for success in class.
Students are encouraged to ask for help before an assignment becomes overwhelming. Asking questions, attending extra help, and communicating with the teacher are all important parts of being a successful and responsible learner.
Your Global History grade is based on a combination of major assessments, smaller assignments, daily work, and participation.
