About Mrs. Walsh

As the K-3rd Math Specialist, Theresa Walsh runs math intervention groups based on schoolwide benchmark assessments.  Every student is placed in a WIN group based on their individual needs. WIN stands for "What I Need."  These groups are flexible and may change throughout the year.  Students receiving interventions are also progress monitored throughout the year.   

Mrs. Walsh is in her eleventh year teaching at Elwood School.  Prior to becoming a math specialist, she had been a special education teacher, a classroom aide, a substitute teacher, and mathematics tutor. She holds endorsements in math, elementary education, special education, and a math specialist certificate.  She has also taught math and science high school equivalency courses at Joliet Junior College.    

Mrs. Walsh would like to continue meeting students where they are, 

and challenging them to go further than they ever imagined.

Mrs. Walsh is a Chess Club Sponsor.

She is also a Certified Yoga Teacher and Social Emotional Learning Facilitator.
