Welcome to the ELMS Digital Tools page. We all have strengths, and we all have areas where we need extra support. This page is here to help you learn how to use different tools that can support your learning and help you feel successful. These tools are not just for some students—they are for everyone.
Using digital tools can help you:
Understand what you read
Express your ideas more clearly
Edit and revise your work
Stay organized and focused
Show what you know in the best way for you
Click the puzzle piece to see extensions
To have the extension appear on your browser bar, click the blue pin icon.
Extension will show every time you open your Chrome Browser
If you are on a website that has a lot of clutter, ads, and images, use the simplify icon on the Read&Write extension!
The immersive reader can do all of the following:
Read text aloud
Help break words into syllables
Identify parts of speech
Define unknown words
Line focus feature
Provide pictures for unknown words (helpful for students learning English).
Translate text
Immersive Reader in Microsoft Word
Some websites will have the Immersive Reader icon available when using Chromium Edge. Most websites on Edge have a read aloud feature. This is a good back-up if Read & Write is not working.
Snap picture of text
Crop as needed
Open in Immersive Reader
Text can be sent to a word document or OneNote if the student is logged into their school account.
