Students must meet the following requirements to be considered for the CO-OP Program:
Be at least 16 years of age
Be classified as an 11th or 12th grade student
Be on track for graduation
Have a clearly defined career objective
Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and personal qualities necessary for successful employment
Be physically and mentally capable of performing the essential functions of the work-based experience
Have successfully completed required prerequisite coursework, including Career Preparedness and any applicable Career Technical Education courses at the base school or ECTC
Maintain an acceptable attendance, academic, and discipline record as determined by the CO-OP Coordinator*
Complete a CO-OP application for enrollment
Provide at least three educator references (not related to the student), including the teacher of the career cluster course when applicable
*Attendance & Discipline Requirements
Cooperative Education is a work-based learning program designed to prepare students for success in the workplace. Students participating in the program represent both their school and their employer and are expected to demonstrate the reliability, responsibility, and professionalism valued by employers. A student's attendance and discipline record are important factors in determining eligibility for participation.
Attendance Requirement: Students must have an acceptable attendance record. In accordance with Alabama's definition of chronic absenteeism, students with 18 or more days absent during the previous school year, regardless of whether the absences were excused or unexcused, may be denied participation in the CO-OP Program.
Discipline Requirement: Students must have a satisfactory discipline record. Students may be denied participation based on a pattern of disciplinary referrals or serious disciplinary offenses during the previous school year, including but not limited to fighting, violence, threats, possession of a weapon or weapon-related items, theft, vandalism, drug or alcohol offenses, repeated insubordination, or other serious violations of the Student Code of Conduct. The CO-OP Coordinator, in consultation with school administration, will determine eligibility based on the nature, frequency, and severity of the incidents.

On your personal device, sign into Google Chrome with your school username and password. You will see a tab at the top that says school sites. Log in to Clever through that link.
