A resume is a sheet of information that summarizes your background, experience, training and skills. It introduces these components to potential employers, and it reminds the potential employer of you after your interview. Your resume is an advertisement for you. It is designed to highlight your most positive qualifications for the jobs for which you are applying. The prospective employer should be able to gain a good idea of your capabilities and experience.
In order for students to be eligible for CO-OP, they must meet the following requirements:
Is at least 16 years of age.
Is classified as an 11th or 12th grader.
Is on track for graduation.
Has a clearly defined career objective.
Possesses the knowledge, skills, behavioral qualities, and abilities required for successful employment.
Is physically and mentally capable of performing the “essential functions” of the desired work-based experience.
Has successfully completed the required prerequisite course, Career Preparedness, and any other Career Tech course either at a base campus or ECTC.
Has an acceptable attendance, grade, and discipline record as validated by the Coordinator.
Has completed an Application for Enrollment.
Has provided the names of a minimum of three educators that know, and are not related to, the student and will complete recommendation forms including the teacher of the career cluster course, if applicable.
CO-OP students must work 140 hours per credit enrolled. Typically, students are enrolled in either 1 or 2 credits of CO-OP.

Submit your paystub every payday, regardless of frequency. For example, if you are paid weekly on Wednesdays, you should submit weekly on Wednesday. If you are paid every two weeks on Fridays, you should submit every two weeks on Friday. Paystubs are submitted in the paystubs folder shared with you in Google Drive.
You should update your Wage & Hour Report every time you get paid.
Your Wage & Hour Report is due at the mid 9 weeks and the end of the 9 weeks. It should be turned in on Google Classroom.

Beginning with the graduating Class of 2026, students are required to attain College and Career Readiness (CCR). Among many other options to indicate CCR is Attaining Career and Technical Education (CTE) Completer Status.
To meet the CCR Indicator as a CTE completer, a student must earn three (3.0) credits with the grade of a “C” or higher in CTE courses that are part of an approved CTE program of study, including the following additional requirements:
Only credits earned by completing coursework listed in the current CTE Program Guides will be counted.
Each credit earned must have a final grade of “C” or higher.
Earn a maximum of one (1.0) credit earned by completing an approved CTE Program Foundation course, where appropriate, may be counted (Career Prep can only be counted as a foundation course in Business Management Administration, Marketing, or Finance).
Earn a minimum of one (1.0) credit by completing an approved CTE Program Concentrator course.
Earn one (1.0) additional credit by completing of an approved CTE Program Concentrator course or earn one (1.0) credit by completing one of the following approved CTE Program Capstone course(s):
Earn one credit through completion of an authentic Work-Based Learning (WBL) experience in the field of study or a closely related field of study that meets Alabama State Department of Education WBL requirements. (e.g., Internship, ANFR Supervised Agricultural Experience [SAE], Cooperative Education In-field Placement or closely related field).
Earn one credit through completion of an approved CTE Cluster Lab Course that meets specific guidelines related to hours and activities.
Earn one credit through completion of an approved CTE Cluster Pathway Project Course that meets specific guidelines related to hours and activities.
Since students must be employed in a field related to their CTE classes (Foundation + Concentrator courses), CCR status through CO-OP will be determined on an individual basis. If you are or feel that you are a CTE Completer please contact Ms. Baker and your base campus counselor.
Summer CO-OP is a 10-week term that takes place between May 25 and July 31, 2026. Rising Seniors (Class of 2027) have the opportunity to earn one CO-OP credit during the summer of 2026.
