Font Families

There a many different types or families of fonts. Script, sans serif, serif and decorative are just a few common ones. You can find a whole searchable listing of Google fonts and families here.

Fonts can serve many different purposed and convey different emotions. Be sure to think of the meaning when you are selecting a font.

Font Rules

Choose one to three fonts per design. This will make your design more cohesive.
When combining multiple fonts, be sure to look for contrast or differences in to the two. Do they pair well together?
Stick to sans serif or serif fonts for body text. They are the easiest to read.
Be sure that text stands out from the background.

Font Pairing

Be sure to pick fonts that pair well together, either by being similar in nature or appropriately contrasting.
