It's an honor to be a part of the Hawthorne Family! My family extends to my husband, George, and our two children, Peter and Katerina! An interesting fact that I loved telling my students is that I grew up in Elmhurst and attended our public schools. My husband and I both attended Elmhurst College where we aspired to become educators. The Elmhurst community continues to be an integral part of our lives.

This is my third year as an instructional coach at Hawthorne and my 11th year in District 205. While my teaching background started in elementary, I also taught at the middle school level in the areas of English Language Arts, REACH, social studies, and reading intervention. In conjunction with my teaching experiences, I also served as a building reading specialist for two years. As I consider myself a lifelong learner, I completed two Master's Degrees in Reading and Teacher Leadership.

As an instructional coach, my passion is reflecting and improving our instructional practices to have the maximum impact on student learning and growth. I believe that every individual has the potential to learn and grow!

I'm privileged to work with such an extraordinary staff here at Hawthorne!

My goals at Hawthorne this year...

  • To assist teachers increasing rigor, relevance, and student engagement in our instructional practices
  • To create professional collaboration and personalized learning within the school that is long-lasting
  • To best utilize the current research on quality instruction
  • To maximize the teacher planning time and focus its scope
  • To help accelerate learning for all students
