Informational Videos

All videos were created by the Elmhurst District 205 Communications Department. Participation by District 205 administrators and staff members was voluntary.

Rebuild Lincoln Elementary

At 103 years old, the Lincoln Elementary School building is past its useful life. It floods consistently, teachers face temperature control issues in their classrooms and there has been a history of mold growth. Should the referendum pass, Lincoln would be rebuilt completely.

Rebuild Field Elementary

Like Lincoln, the 87-year-old Field Elementary is past its useful life. The building has flooded multiple times and continues to take on water every time it experiences a heavy rain. The building lacks storage and classroom space, is not ADA compliant and is not equipped for future-ready learning. If the referendum passes, Field Elementary would be rebuilt completely.

Building Specific Projects

In addition to major structural issues at Field Elementary and Lincoln Elementary, there are different facility deficits at each of the District's buildings. This video highlights the needs at Jackson Elementary, Churchville Middle School, York High School, Emerson Elementary and the Transition Center.

Safety and Security

The safety and security of all District 205 students has always been a priority. However, many of the District's buildings do not have a secure entrance. Should the referendum pass, a secure entrance would be added to every building that needs one.

Madison Early Childhood Education Center

The building that houses Madison Early Childhood Education Center was not originally built to accommodate children ages three to five. There are no in-classroom bathrooms, like other early learning centers. The building also has no central air and the roof leaks consistently.

Future-Ready Learning

District 205's vision is for all students to graduate high school college, career, and life ready. To accomplish that vision, D205's curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, character and citizenship. Funding from the referendum will allow for learning spaces that foster and encourage those critical skills.
