Our team will be in Houston, Texas for the FIRST® World Championship! Check back here for updates from the team!
We are so proud that our team won the Robot Design Finalist Award at Worlds!! This season our goal for robot was to think outside of the box and challenge ourselves! Our whole team came together to make it happen! Thank you to everyone who helped make this incredible experience possible! For our 8 graduating team members this was an amazing way to end our FLL journey! Safe travels everyone! -Liam
Day #3 was jam-packed with competition! After a rocky start to the day (security was really crazy to get in and our teammate's voice didn't come back overnight) our morning flew by! After Round 1 we had our presentation which went great - we are proud the last-minute changes we had to make worked out. Quickly after presentation we had our second robot round where we finally broke the 400 point barrier scoring 425, our max for the day. After competition our team visited the FTC and FRC pits and watched matches from both. Our pizza party at the Discovery Green was rained out, but we had a lot of fun celebrating at our hotel lobby (including celebrating one of our teammate's birthday which is Sunday!) and then going to an arcade! -Liam
Day #2 - Today was an awesome day filled with some ups and downs! But as one of our team members says, anything and everything can happen at Worlds! We had some trouble with our robot practices. Great runs at the practice table and a little less great on the competition tables. But we know tomorrow is a new day! One of our team members (our robot presentation MC) lost their voice completely (allergies? cold? we aren't sure!) So we ended the day with a practice to cover his parts while still including him. Sick boards to the rescue! We also helped build the lego mural, talked to so many teams and had fun! Tomorrow is a big day!
All 10 of our teammates safely arrived at Worlds, yay! We started off our day by setting up our pit. We spent our day taking turns running the pit. We have met so many amazing people from Canada, Wisconsin, Indiana, Minnesota, Maine, Texas, China, and more!! We ended our day by taking LOTS of pictures and spending time together at the pool. -- Nandana
We are going to Worlds - Yippee! Some of the team is flying but a couple of us are driving to get our robot safely to the competition. On the way, we stopped at Cahokia Mounds State Park. We visited the museum. We were excited because it talked about the mussel shells the Cahokians used to temper their clay. When we went to Aztalan in Wisconsin last August, Bob the Archeologist told us the way archeoglosts knew Cahokians had come to Aztalan was they found mussel shells in the sherds at Aztalan. This shows how important sherds are and how much archeoloigists can learn about people from sherds and pots! - Lily :)
