Mrs. Stelter

Physical Education and Health Teacher

About Mrs. Stelter

My name is Samantha Stelter and I graduated from Elk Mound High School in 2008.  After graduation I attended the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire where I pursued a degree in Kinesiology with a emphasis in Physical Education.  I also pursued a certificate in Health Education and Adaptive Physical Education.  While attending UWEC, I was a member of the Blugold Fastpitch Softball team for 2 years during my sophomore and junior years.

After graduating in 2013, I recieved my first teaching job in Amery, WI as a middle school PE teacher.   I also coached C-team volleyball and 7th grade boys and girls basketball during my time in Amery.  While I loved the town and school district, I only stayed for one year.

In 2014, I was hired as a high school Health and PE teacher here in Elk Mound.  After assisting my mom with the volleyball program for one season (she was the head coach for 25 years!), I took over in 2015 as the head varsity coach.  I then decided to help with softball as well, and in 2017, I became the head varsity softball coach.  I loved coaching both sports and enjoyed the time I got to spend connecting with students outside of the classroom.  However, 2019 was the last year I coached either sport as my husband and I welcomed our first son into the world in March of that year.

I now spend much of my free time chasing around my two boys, Leo (4) and Jax (2).  These two boys, and my husband of course, are the center of my world.  They are a great reminder of how precious time is and how fast it goes by.  Our days are mostly spent outside playing in the water, the dirt, or on the lake fishing.  Our adventures don't take on far from home, but everyday is a new adventure in a toddler's eyes.

My most recent adventure has been my return to the classroom as a student.  This summer (2023) I began a Masters Program in Educational Leadership & Administration.  I didn't realize how much I needed this educational reboot but it has been great for restoring my passion as an educator and truly shifting how I view myself, my students, and education as a whole.  I am so excited to be on this journey and can't wait to share it with my students!!

Dare to be different!
