Elk Creek Fire Protection District serves mountain communities approximately 30 miles southwest of Denver, providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, wildland fire response, and community risk-reduction programs across western Jefferson County and eastern Park County.
Covering roughly 98 square miles and serving about 17,000 residents, Elk Creek responds to approximately 1,300–1,400 calls annually. The department operates with a combination of full-time career firefighters and a highly trained volunteer staff, supported by four stations (one staffed 24/7) and a strong wildland fire program dedicated to protecting lives and property in the mountain environment.
Conifer Fire Department serves more than 300 square miles across the foothills of Jefferson and Douglas Counties, providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, wildfire mitigation, and community risk-reduction programs to mountain communities.
Formed through the unification of Inter-Canyon and North Fork Fire Protection Districts, Conifer Fire brings together decades of experience and service. With eight strategically located stations - several offering advanced life support - the department provides reliable response across a diverse and challenging service area, protecting lives, homes, and forests.
