President: The president prepares the agenda and run the PTA board and general meetings for the year. This person oversees all PTA activities that have been discussed with the principal. Attends county school meetings and workshops. The president will distribute materials from the county to officers and committee chairs; sign up for Florida and Pinellas county emails and newsletters.
Vice Presidents: The VP’s will assist the principal and help facilitate and oversee all activities. This person will also attend Pinellas county council meetings and workshops.
Treasurer: This person is responsible for the PTA budget and is in charge of making sure the PTA is financially sound and following all IRS and PTA financial guidelines. Will assist with preparation and presentation of budget summary. She/He will balance the account monthly and present a report monthly at the PTA board meeting. This person will issue checks, make deposits, and do an annual audit. Is responsible for the insurance dues and sending membership dues to the state.
Secretary: The secretary will keep record of all board and general meetings, distribute the minutes to the board, reading and action on minutes of previous meeting. Will act as custodian of PTA records and keep a permanent file of all minutes, agendas, reports, the charter and an approved copy of the local unit bylaws. Will notify county council of names of council delegates and keep this list up to date.
Communications: This person will prepare PTA news for the school newsletter and the monthly PTA eNewsletter. Will make graphics for upcoming events and update the family communications through Facebook. She/He will update the PTA website and send out communication to all PTA members.
Fundraising: The chair is responsible for organizing fundraisers for the PTA that will help the organization reach their goals. They will form and meet with committee members to create a calendar of fundraiser for the year. Will meet with the principal and board for approval of the fundraisers chosen. Will promote fundraiser and collect all proceeds and submit to Treasurer.
Yearbook: The yearbook chair will form a committee and plan meetings. This committee will have to decide on a theme and have it approved by the principal. The committee will design pages, add photos, and captions. Will enter all messages and business ads. Will work with the yearbook company to ensure all due dates are met. She/He will collect photos from parents, staff, and committee members.
Spirit Wear: Will order all memorabilia as needed. Will have table setup at all events, collect money and submit to Treasurer.
