Fashion Accessories:
Students are not permitted to wear jewellery other than one small, plain stud or sleeper in each ear lobe (for girls) and a watch (girls and boys). Rings, necklaces, bracelets, wristbands and sunglasses are not to be worn. No exceptions.
Except for a light concealer to cover skin blemishes, no makeup in any form is permitted at any time, at any college event. No nail polish is to be worn. False or extended finger nails are not permitted. Plain lip balm or sun protection is allowed but no lipstick or coloured lip gloss is to be worn.
Body piercing (nose, eyebrows, tongues, etc.) and tattoos are not permitted.
Moustaches and beards are not permitted. Boys are to be clean shaven at all times without exception.
Hair:
Hair must never be presented or worn outlandishly or in a style or look that will draw attention to the wearer.
Hair must be the student’s natural colour. It must not be coloured, highlighted or streaked at any time or for any reason while attending school. Fringes may not cover students’ eyes.
For girls whose hair reaches the collar, it must be tied up and off the face at all times – this includes to and from school. Hair tie colours are royal blue, black or white only. A black claw clip may also be worn in a neat and professional manner. However, these cannot be worn for PE - a hair tie must be used.
Hair for boys must not reach the collar and must be off the face at all times. If it is tied up a single black hair tie is permitted.
Neither girls nor boys are permitted to have their hair in a dread-lock style or have their head shaven. No students are permitted to have hair patterns shaved into their hair.
No exemptions for hair irregularities will be given to students returning from a special event or holiday.
If an item is not on the list below, it is not permitted.
Girls:
Black skirt (regulation)
Please note the following instructions regarding the length of the skirt: when the girl is sitting upright, the skirt must cover the knee.
Elim logo mid blue polycotton short sleeve button-through blouse
Black opaque stockings (Term 2 and 3 only) or crew length socks (no ankle socks), to be worn with closed-in shoes
Hair ties - plain black, royal blue or white
Boys:
Black shorts (Regulation - Years 7-10 only)
Elim logo mid blue polycotton short sleeve button-through shirt
Elim socks (long black with 2 blue stripes at the top)
Girls and Boys:
Elim school jacket
Elim logo V-neck black knit jumper
School scarf (Term 2 and 3 only. Optional. No other scarves are permitted.)
Elim black cap (no other caps are permitted) Caps are strongly encouraged in Term 1 and 4.
Please note that no t-shirts or undergarments must show around the neck or below blouses or shirts.
Physical Education:
Regulation P.E. uniform shirt and shorts – compulsory for all students.
Shoes:
Plain, black leather, lace-up, formal school shoes with a small heel (mary-jane style formal school shoes are acceptable for girls).
Black, Doc Marten formal school shoes are acceptable, even with yellow stitching, but must not include any boot varieties.
Sneaker styles, canvas, and flat-soled shoes are not allowed.
No logos, additional embellishments or branding.
Shoes that are produced by sports companies such as Adidas, Nike, New Balance or Vans are not acceptable.
Sandals are also a uniform option in terms 1 and 4 only (summer). They must be plain black, Roman-style and include a back strap and not have logos. “Cage style” non-leather sandals are acceptable. Sandals must be worn without socks. Sandals are not allowed during practical technology and science classes for safety reasons - students who choose to wear sandals on a given day must ensure they bring their approved black school shoes to change into before attending these specific lessons.
Crocs, ballet flats, jandals, high heels, slip-ons, street, sports, or flat back shoes are NOT permitted
