Communication

Without communication there could be neither teaching nor learning. I seek to foster a hospitable environment in which all students feel comfortable sharing insights, ideas and questions with each other, with me, and with the outside world. Together we seek to master all forms of literacy: written, verbal and digital. As historians, we also study the momentous changes wrought over the centuries by innovations in communications technologies and their effects on economy, society and culture.
