How will my grades at the college impact my child as they go through the program?
Information about grades can be found in the Student & Parent Handbook. Students must maintain a 67% Passing Rate and a 2.0 GPA. Students dropping below this rate risk not being eligible for financial aid from colleges in the future. ACC professors are not ISD employees and are not subject to ISD policies concerning attendance and grades. College professors do not issue six weeks or progress report grades; they issue academic alerts to high school staff, as needed. ACC advisors meet with students at the High School campus each semester to review the Midterm Progress Report. This report is completed by the student and is the focus of the advising session. Discussions include current grades, course completion and enrollment, attendance, and other relative information. Professors issue a final grade at the end of the college semester. Colleges use a letter grade system which is converted by Elgin ISD as follows: A=95, B=85, C=75, D=70, F=65 (if applicable, this conversion will also be used for transfer grades when student’s withdrawal from a course).
