FEMM Hub Training Session: Electrical machine coil winding technologies
On Wednesday 18th of March, FEMM Hub Director Professor Geraint Jewell will be leading a 3-hour training session titled "Electrical machine coil winding technologies".
Coil winding is a core technology for electrical machines with on-going innovation in winding techniques and machinery playing a central role in the inexorable rise in machine power density and efficiency. This 3-hour online short-course will provide a comprehensive review of coil winding technologies for electrical machines spanning both established methods and more innovative approaches. Drawing largely from manufacturer published information and research literature it will cover:
coil requirements and materials
the fundamental mechanics of coil forming
the various established and emerging winding and forming methods.
The content will be presented at a level suitable for engineers with any materials, electrical or mechanical backgrounds and will assume little or no pre-requisite knowledge.
This session is available exclusively for our FEMM Hub partners, if you would like to register please get in touch with FEMM Hub Manager - L.Okeefe@sheffield.ac.uk.
