Filling the space between fundamental academic research and industry, we are the only High Value Manufacturing Catapult centre in Scotland, providing the critical link between manufacturers and the Catapult’s powerful network of like-minded people and organisations.

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) is a network of world-leading research and innovation centres working with advanced manufacturing companies of any size around the globe. They specialise in carrying out world-leading research into advanced machining, manufacturing and materials, which is of practical use to industry.

They transform industrial and economic performance by making step changes in productivity, increasing competitiveness, developing new products and processes and training new talent and skills.

They are one of Europe’s leading and largest power systems and energy technology university research groups. Based at Strathclyde University, their 200 staff and researchers engage in a diverse range of collaborative, multidisciplinary research programmes, addressing issues such as the creation of sustainable energy systems, to the development of condition monitoring technologies and asset investment planning for major electricity companies. The Institute is equipped with state-of-the-art experimental facilities to support its research and commercial activities.

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) is the UK’s main agency for funding research in engineering and the physical sciences.
