FEMM Hub visits Lund University, Sweden

Glynn Atkinson visited Avo Reinap (FEMM hub scientific adviser) at the Industrial Electrical Engineering and Automation department, in Lund University, southern Sweden.  Here he met undergraduate students and PDRA Leonardo Columbo who has developed a test rig for the evaluation and characterization of iron losses in electrical machine stators.  The system is based around Labview and a linear amplifier and provides closed loop BH analysis of stator cores.  Sinusoidal magnetisation was demonstrated at 1.8T and 5kHz. 

On the completion of a PhD, it is tradition in the department for the doctoral candidate to nail their PhD thesis to the wall - better this than their examiner!
