Class Rules and Procedures

(Know them, live them, love them!)

Class Rules -

Be: Respectful, Courteous, Prepared, Punctual, Do No Harm

Following class rules makes it possible for you to earn Cat Tracks and go to the PROS parties. Failure to follow the rules will get you marks on a card, or possibly sent to the principal! Let’s go to parties people!!!

I have a number of class procedures because it helps the classroom to run more efficiently. It may seem like a lot, but you will get it in no time!

• I will greet you at the door, then you will enter the classroom quietly. Once you are in the class, I would like you to STAY in the class. Please get your drinks, and go to the bathroom beforehand. Once you are in, you can sharpen your pencil if needed, then start bell work at your seat.

• When I need your attention, I will say El Dorado! You say – CATS! STOP what you are doing, and make eye contact with me to show that you are ready to listen.

• Once the bell has rung, I need you in your seat. After that, please raise your hand for permission to move about the room.

• I encourage class participation. However, if you are talking when someone else is talking, I will give you a warning, and then I will move you to a chair by my desk.

• If you miss a day, it is YOUR JOB to get your makeup work.

• Keep voices low at ALL times. During announcements, and walking to the library, there is no talking.

• Respect each other at all times, as well as respect all other students, teachers, principals, and visitors on our campus.

• Use your best manners at ALL times.When speaking to adults, it is polite to say, “Yes or No Ma’am/Sir”.

• Clean up, and put back in place, items you use in the classroom.

• Keep your hands and feet TO YOURSELVES.

• Running is only allowed during PE games.

• PLEASE raise your hand when you need my attention.

• NO students are allowed behind my desk.

• When someone enters the classroom, CONTINUE working quietly and follow all classroom rules and procedures.

• Follow all classroom rules and procedures when visiting teachers or if substitute teachers are in the classroom.

• Group work: When I ring the bell, you have four minutes to move to your group. There will be NO complaining about partners. We will be respectful to each other.

• Clean your surrounding desk area and floor at the end of the class period.

• When class is over, WAIT for MY DISMISSAL and leave quietly.
