EMS 6th, 7th, & 8th grade bands -

Rehearsal Guidelines/Class Expectations

1. Be in your assigned seat with instrument, music, and a pencil ready to begin rehearsal within 2 minutes after class has begun.
2. Do not bring soda pop, food of any kind, or gum into the bandroom. There is a trash can located at the classroom entrance for disposal, use it as you enter the room.
3. No playing before rehearsal begins. We will warm-up together as an ensemble.
4. Do not write or lean on music stands.
5. Be polite, responsible for your actions, and treat others, as you would like them to treat you.
6. Come to class each day with a positive attitude (Leave excess baggage in the hall).
7. Know your part when the director calls on you!!!
8. During rehearsal, stop playing when the director stops. Remain silent as instruction is given.
9. Percussion area—must be kept in order daily!!!
10. No talking while the rehearsal is in progress.
11. Raise your hand and be recognized before speaking.
12. Respect all nouns: Persons, Places and Things.

NO GROUP IS BETTER THAN IT’S REHEARSALS
