• As we have completed our inaugural year of "Panther Families", we are revisiting those things that work and those that can be improved upon. It was decided that a greater emphasis will be placed on using the Core Essentials Curriculum, which provides us with a character word of the month, as well as lesson plans, video clips, and other activities to support our family group leaders in their efforts. Time was spent researching other childrens' books and activities that would support our word of the month in the classroom during social emotional time, as well as in Families. Present counseling resources were identified that would fit within this format. The logistics of finding a central location for Panther Family materials is needed. Family Leader notebooks will be put together and made readily available by next fall. Also, additional resources and games that promote teamwork and communication will be a key piece in our work with Panther Families this next school year. Student journaling will be expanded by providing students with starter questions to "jump-start" their writing/drawing.
