Heart of Ohio Tournament/Ryle Rumble Results
One of the toughest in-season tournaments for junior high wrestlers in Ohio.
• Ethan Suer finished 4th overall, going 4–2, including a win over a returning state finalist along the way.
• Luke Johnson wrestled extremely well, also finishing 4–2 and just missing a podium spot. He advanced to the finals of the consolation bracket.
• Cam Polking dropped a one-point match to the 3rd seed and unfortunately didn’t get a chance to wrestle for placement. He finished 5–1 on the day and was the consolation co-champ.
• Tucker Kurzhals went 2–2 in a tough 31-man bracket, finishing one win shy of placing.
• James Ebbers went 3–2, outperformed his seed, and finished 5th overall. He had a great tournament and continues to prove he’s one of the top wrestlers in his weight class this season.
Ryle Raider Rumble Tournament
A very competitive event featuring some of the best schools in Kentucky and Southwest Ohio.
• Jaycob Hyman finished 3rd overall, going 4–1 at 83 lbs.
• Levi Parton went 2–2 and placed 6th at 122 lbs.
• Dillon Dickerson went 3–2 and finished 4th at 185 lbs.

In total, 17 Panthers got matches on Saturday—great experience and effort across the board.
The Panthers competed in the Jr. High Coaches Classic this weekend. Five wrestlers placed, earning three championships and one runner-up finish.
Champions included Ethan Suer (80), Tucker Kurzhals (128), and James Ebbers (160)—all winning their weight classes. Cam Polking (116) finished as runner-up, and Dillion Dickerson (172) closed out a solid weekend with a pin and a 5th-place finish!

Aiden May led the way, bringing home a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP at 95 lbs in the D3 division! Aiden had an outstanding run, picking up bonus-point wins early and finishing strong with a 2–1 decision in the finals.
Ethan Watters battled back tough after an early loss to earn a 3rd place finish at 145 lbs in D4. His run through the consolation bracket showed a lot of grit, including multiple falls and a tiebreaker win in the semis.
Jaycob Hyman put together a strong tournament to finish 4th at 85 lbs (D4), earning several big wins along the way.
Daxton Wittwer picked up multiple wins in a tough bracket at 60 lbs (D3), scoring valuable team points and gaining great experience on the state stage.
Other wrestlers who competed were Paxton Easterly, who picked up a win at the state tournament, and James Webb, who gained valuable experience as well.
2026 OHWAY Novice State Championships Recap
Great effort from our young Panthers this weekend at the OHWAY Novice Championships! We had multiple podium finishes and a lot of valuable mat time gained.
🥉 Noah Green (6U HWT) battled back after two early losses to secure a strong 3rd place finish, closing with a dominant major decision.
🥉 Daxton Wittwer (9–10, 56 lbs) had an outstanding tournament, racking up multiple falls and a tech fall on his way to a 3rd place finish.
4️⃣ James Webb Jr. (HWT) earned a 4th place finish, picking up a solid major decision victory along the way.
💪 Cooper Ward (7–8, 56 lbs) faced tough competition and continues to gain valuable experience that will pay off moving forward.
Overall, a great showing with multiple medalists and continued growth across the board.
Great weekend competing at one of the toughest youth tournaments in the state! Our guys battled hard and came away with several podium finishes and strong performances.
🥈 Aiden May (3X State placer) (D3, 95 lbs) led the way with an outstanding run to the state finals. Aiden picked up four straight wins—including three pins and a dominant semifinal decision—before finishing as the state runner-up.
4️⃣ Henry Currin (D1, 60 lbs) put together an impressive comeback through the consolation bracket, stacking multiple pins and a tech fall to earn a 4th place finish.
💪 Jaycob Hyman (D4, 80 lbs) showed toughness throughout the bracket, winning several matches—including multiple falls—to secure a 7th place finish.
💪 Ethan Watters (2X State placer) (D4, 140 lbs) had a strong showing with two early pins and added a pair of shutout wins on the backside, finishing in 6th place.
🔨 Tyson May (D1, 55 lbs) and Jacob Brown (D2, 45 lbs) faced tough draws but gained valuable experience against high-level competition.
Overall, a strong showing at a very competitive state tournament.
