Our campus has resources that are here to help you with your research, everything from locating sources to citing them properly.
Just remember, whether you decide to use any of these resources or go at your research alone, know that research takes time, a lot of time. If it is taking a while, you are probably doing it right. Therefore, start earlier than you think you need to.
The descriptions of the following campus resources also let you know what steps of the Eight Steps to Research method that resource is helpful for.
On most college campuses there is a Reference Desk within the campus's library where a Research Librarian sits. This person is there to help students gather research for their project as well as help with citations and overall formatting. WOW!
Most importantly: I have never met a Research Librarian who did not love their job and want to help students with these tasks. This means that on the five campuses that I have worked at and the five campuses (totaling ten campuses) I have studied at, every Research Librarian has been helpful and happy to help.
Here's how to get in touch with SMC's Research Librarian, either in-person or online. Note the hours of availability when planning your visit.
