Our school is using Big Ideas for our math curriculum.  Although there will not often be math homework, please work on counting, identifying numbers, and 1:1 correlation within 10.

Students are working on Chapter 5, Compose and Decompose numbers within 10.  This chapter will talk about "part-part-whole" and how to use two numbers to make another number.  One prominent question students will see is to make a set (let's say 5), and show a way to make that number (3 and 2) and show their work.  This can be really challenging, so any home practice is encouraged. 

Students just finished their chapter on comparing numbers within 10. They have been really working hard and I am so proud of them.  We still have some number struggles, but overall they have really done a great job! Our next big step is to really practice writing numbers correctly!
