About Chief Secretary Delivery Unit

Chief Secretary Delivery Unit was established with the support of United Nation Development Programme under its umbrella project named Fata Governance Project (FGP). Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the administrative head of all lying departments operational in the province. The merger seven new districts from erstwhile FATA posed a challenging task for the political and administrative leadership of the province. There were some departments already operational in the seven districts with a limited range of services while others were not operational due to their constitutional limitation. The supreme court of Pakistan had announced in its judgement that the merger process should complete within the span of one year. The prime minister had also identified a number of projects which were aimed at delivering the benefits of merger to the citizens of FATA newly merged district.This tasked involved a number of departments and projects which had to be tracked for its completion.The CSDU management team decided to develop an online portal for tracking the progress of merger and implementation of prime minister decisions.The team consisted of advisers in the domain of governance, rule of law and social sectors with support of IT fellows and interns provided by KPITB. The team developed data collection routines for collecting information from departments on the progress made in staffed take meetings which were held at the end of each month.The technical team shows Google Suites to collaborate among stakeholders working on merger. Google App Script has been used to integrate data sets from various data routines to generate dashboard charts. A demo website has been created and pending approval of Chief secretary. In addition to data collection details about various activities is managed through Knowledge Management System. The Knowledge management system allows for organizing reusable information, departments and their activities all documents in soft and hard form are made available through a web interface.
