This week we are going to focus on cardio. Cardio refers to your heart and respiratory refers to your lungs. Your heart is a muscle. So, let’s work it!!
Click here for complete instructions including a warm up and stretching. It is very important before you exercise to warm up and stretch!
Print out or create your own cards. Cut the cards out and place in a bowl. Pick one card out and do what the card says. Continue until you have done all 8 of them or did 8 picks. Challenge your family to join in the BEAN fun! Be sure to read all of the instructions.
This can be played with one or more people. Remember: correct technique of the activity is more important than doing it fast.
Cards are dealt equally, face down. If you have an extra card(s), then have everyone start with the extra card(s) before they get into their own pile. Be sure to read all the instructions.
You will choose your favourite (activity, food, animal, etc.) and do the corresponding exercise that follows. Check out the presentation for your Would You Rather Fitness activity.
Feel free to watch the Phys. Ed Video 2 of Mr. Bosma (FSC) and Mr. Ostapowich (FSC) showing you how to play.
You can choose if you would like to do the activities in the presentation or on the video! If you are really adventurous, maybe you do BOTH!
Lets get your body moving! For this activity you will be using a skipping rope and some floor marker. If you do not have a skipping rope that is okay, you can use other items found around your house (with your parents permission). For ideas on what "around the house" items you can use, check out the full instructions on the Locomotor Instruction Sheet.
We will be focusing on locomotion and non-locomotion. Those are some big words, all it means is:
Locomotion: to move from one spot to another.
Non-Locomotion: move you body without moving your feet.
Go ahead and give it a try!

This can be played as a 2 player version, or you could challenge yourself by timing to see how long it takes to make a row of 3 on the board. Be sure to watch the Phys Ed Video 1 for a demonstration.
Using items found around your house try completing these throwing and catching challenges.
