Throughout the project, we are working with project-related activities in all of our schools. Sometimes we carry out the activities in our regular classes, sometimes in our extra-curricular Erasmus clubs.
The first project task we did was a logo competition. In all of the partner schools, our students made logo suggestions. There was a winner in each country, and out of the winners, the Turkish partner compiled several logo alternatives. Finally, the participants in the Hungarian meeting in April 2024 voted on which alternative to use, and so the common project logo was decided on.
Erasmus corners were set up in all the schools, showing information about the project, the partner schools and the project meetings.
Before the first meeting, students in all of the partner schools brainstormed about what mythological creatures they know from local stories and made mindmaps. Then they researched the topic, learning more about the characters you can hear about in tales and stories. Below, you can see a list of common motives in Hungarian folk tales, and also a translation of the Swedish-Finnish folk tale "The tale of the children that were taken by the Mountain Troll" that was dramatized for the Hungarian meeting.
Surprise boxes were prepared in all the partner schools and sent to the other partners - or given during a meeting. The boxes contained typical sweets and snacks, brochures, letters and other small things and trinkets that told the receiver something about the sending country/region.
After the project meetings, the participants gave presentations about their travel experiences in their respective schools.
We all prepared "holiday packages", ie. presentations with information about a holiday typical to our country. The packages include stories in connection to the holiday, recipes, music, historical background and craft or game ideas, all so that the partners will be able to celebrate each others' holidays!
Welcome spring with a Vappen/Walpurgis and May, 1st celebration á la Finland!
