At Our Lady of Perpetual Help, we are excited to expand our House System through a deeper focus on the Cardinal Virtues.
The Cardinal Virtues—Fortitude, Temperance, Justice, and Prudence—teach us that virtue is often found in the balance, or "golden middle," between extremes.
For example, Courage is not recklessness (too much!) or cowardice (too little!), but strength in the face of fear or other adversity (just right, like Goldilocks).
Temperance is not rigid self-denial, but more a healthy moderation.
And Justice is not favoritism, but fairness and respect for the dignity and well-being of all.
Prudence helps us recognize all these balances, guiding us to act wisely in every situation (unless, of course, we abandon Prudence).
