OLPH Staff Liaison Role (Designated Teacher Rep)
Adhere to guidelines outlined in EIAA Staff Liaison Policy
Be present for away games (arrange staff coverage if needed).
For home games - guide gym set up before and after games, assist scorekeepers and ensure a positive presence in the gym
Communicate with players and parents using Team Linkt and support coaches.
Send in a 1 sentence update of game scores, summaries or photos to daily announcements or SMORE
Take a Team Photo for the Yearbook, SMORE, or social media
Help hand out team clothing/jerseys
Excuse students from class for tournaments and early games by emailing roster and time (preferably a week in advance) to front office
Collect jerseys at the end of the season and return to Athletic Director
Cheer on the team, build relationships with the students and enjoy athletics!

STAFF LIAISON
1. Each school shall appoint a staff liaison to each team participating in the EIAA in accordance with their division policies and procedures when using community coaches.
a. A full-time employee may serve as both the head coach and staff liaison, provided they are coaching in their respective district.
ROLE OF THE STAFF LIAISON
1. The staff liaison will ensure proper conduct is being followed by all players coaches, team officials, and spectators as set out in these guidelines.
2. The staff liaison will navigate conflict as it arises and take appropriate action.
3. The staff liaison will monitor playing time to ensure expectations are being met regarding the EIAA Fair Play standards.
DUTIES
1. The duties at games and practices include the following but are not limited to these alone.
a. Will be present before, during and after all games played.
b. Be available at all practices.
c. At each game the staff liaison will seek out the other liaison and introduce themselves. It is also encouraged to introduce themselves to game officials.
d. The Staff Liaison should sit on or near the player’s bench to best monitor the team and observe spectators.
e. Implement the school’s response protocol in the event of any serious injury by any participant on their team.
f. Should any situation arise where the Staff Liaison feels it is necessary to act for the safety of player, team, or official they are responsible to do so.
g. In all matters, the staff liaison has direction and authority over the coaching staff.
REPORTING
1. The staff liaison has a duty to report, as soon as practicable, any of the following to their respective administration or designate, who will in turn notify the EIAA Athletic Coordinator.
a. Any player, team official or spectator ejected from a game.
i. Exceptions would be for players fouled out during basketball or handball. Any ejections for unsportsmanlike conduct must be reported.
b. Excessive abuse directed at an official by any team official, player or spectator.
c. Fighting or intent to injure a competitor.
d. Repeated use of obscene language or gestures.
e. Dangerous conduct falling outside the scope of play.
f. Any objectional conduct that brings dishonor to an athlete, coach, spectator, school, and the EIAA.
g. Any serious injury.
