For those of us in the helping profession, it becomes quite commonplace to do for others before we worry about ourselves. Unfortunately, this often leads to increased and continued stress, which could be detrimental to our physical and emotional well being. Self-care is an important part of the helping process, and needs to be prioritized as a part of our every day function. We will not be able to do our very best for our students if we do not take care of ourselves.
