What is Viking time?
Viking time is a class period held most Tuesdays after 1/2 period for 30 minutes. Viking time is implemented to ensure our students receive district mandated information, digital citizenship expectations, non-cognitive readiness skills, and school-wide implementation of our school expectations, events, and student and teacher acknowledgements.
Some Viking time lessons will be similar across all grade levels i.e.: teaching the student handbook. However, at times lessons will be specifically designed for either freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors. Students, teachers and parents can click on the specific buttons that correspond to a grade-level and find the lesson designed for that week.
Viking time lessons are designed to:
Build community
Engage students in a growth mindset
Promote academic and social success
Teach digital citizenship
Disseminate information about college and career readiness
Engage in social and emotional learning
