ITSS Pathway

The ITSS Pathway is a 300-hour, computer-based program that prepares students for seeking entry-level employment as an IT Support Specialist. Students have the opportunity to obtain a professional certificate from Google and can complete the pathway in one year by enrolling in two class periods per day for the entire school year. Program participants must be at least 16 years old, and a signed parent consent form is required if under 18. The ideal candidate is a junior or senior who still needs at least 30 elective credits or has a genuine interest in computer science, is willing to commit to the completion of the program, and has excellent attendance. Successful completion of the pathway requirements earns students a cord to wear proudly at their graduation ceremony.

Google IT Support Certificate

This is the first half of the pathway program. Students complete the certificate in one semester if enrolled for two class periods per day or one year if enrolled for one class period per day. This is a program people pay to earn, however, ours was 1 of only 100 schools in the country to receive access for our students at no cost. Upon completion, students receive a digital badge for use on their resumes, which can be a helpful tool in applying for beginning technical support positions at any company.

project lead the way: cybersecurity

This is the second half of the pathway program. Students complete their cybersecurity work in one semester if enrolled for two class periods per day or one year if enrolled in one class period per day. Cybersecurity is a high-demand field, and most careers require some college to enter the workforce, however this is a good introduction to prepare students to study cybersecurity in more depth in college.
