At Wackford Community Center, the Biomedical Academy seniors gave feedback to all 9 middle school presentation on how they addressed a problem on their campus. Topics ranged from bullying, participation, building school culture, reducing fights, reducing vandalism. On YAP Day 1 in November, 2025, the BA seniors facilitated each school to identify a problem and means of addressing it.
The partnership between the California Society of Anesthesiologists, UC Davis Anesthesiology Department and Project Lead the Way opens the opportunity for BA students to visit the UC Davis Hospital Simulation Lab. Thank you to Dr. Reihaneh Forghany, Dr. Amy Chen, and her staff for organizing our visit to locate various vessels with the ultrasound machine and discuss postsecondary options in the medical health field.

Vitalant registered 30 donors and collected 20 life saving pints. Thank you to seniors Avneet Kaur and Sadie Conkling for the past 3 years of participation and organizing. Thank you to the following students for carrying the torch and continuing with this community service event: Kanchan Arya, Addison Thomas, Lina Nguyen, Jayden Ho, Morgan Hermano, Maylee Tran, Landon Vo, Nicolette Velasco, Meghan Nguyen, Maggie Bui, Prabhleen Kaur, and Kimberley Wang.
Monica Aguilar, President of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, and several other members shared their personal and professional experiences to become nurses and conducted 3 different stations: 1. different conditions heard through a stethescope 2. intravenous injection 3. sphygmomanometer and blood pressure.
The Biomedical Academy sponsored the fall Vitalant blood drive on Wednesday, October 1. Vitalant registered 45 donors and collected 31 life saving pints.

UC Davis Pre-health students shared post-secondary experience and promoted participation in the Sails Mentorship program at UC Davis. PGHS BA alum, Richmond Eang ('22) and Toby Trieu ('23) shared their insights on how the BA prepared them for life after high school.
Youth Action Project is an EGUSD sponsored conference where all 9 middle schools identify a problem on their campus and try to address and/or resolve. PGHS Biomedical Academy and Sheldon High School Peer Counselor students convened with the Education Equity Department to prepare for the Thursday, November 14 event at District 56. Students participated in ice breakers and leadership building skills to lead each middle school's 20 students.
1 donation can save up to 3 lives. Students aged 16 and over must complete both: 1. the parent permission form (signed in black/blue ink); 2. the class information. Turn in completed forms to the blood drive table in the cafeteria on Tuesday and Thursdays or Mr. Cochon's classroom, Portable 8 by Monday 9/30. Your excused passes with scheduled donation time will be delivered 9/30-10/4.

On Friday, October 13, 2023, Biomedical Academy students learned basic first aid of stopping the bleeding by applying pressure, packing wounds, and applying a tourniquet. Thank you to Dignity Health representatives James Amentler and Jessica Brook for your time.

On Thursday, November 9, 21 Biomedical Academy seniors facilitated middle school students to identify a problem on their campus that they would like to address and solve.

The Teen Biotech Challenge is an online poster design competition that allows students to demonstrate research skills, scientific communication skills, and creativity. Participating students will be asked to submit a poster (.pdf) for judging in one of the following biotech-related research categories:TBC
