What is AVID at PGHS?
Each year AVID students reach beyond the classroom to take college tours, not missing the opportunity to also tour the surrounding areas! This year our focus was Northern California in the fall where we toured Cal Poly Humboldt, Sonoma State University, and College of the Redwoods, Moonstone Beach, Carson Mansion, and the Victorian city of Ferndale. In February we took another group to Southern California and students toured: UCLA, Loyola Marymount, CSU Northridge, and Santa Monica Pier. It gives students a chance to see what is available and creates incredible bonding as an AVID school family.
