Q1: What is your role at Laguna and how long have you been here?
A: I have been at Laguna for 13 years, and I've taught mainly photography, but also IB Art and Graphic Design
Q2: What is your educational background?
A: I have a degree in photography and I minored in art education and studio art.
Q3: What activities, if any, were you involved in as a high school student?
A: In high school, I was in theater club. I tried out for plays but rarely got a role in the play, shucks. I was in a visual arts program where I took a lot of art classes as well.
Q4: Advice do you wish more students would take to help them be academically successful?
A: Advice.. ? I think planning and using an agenda. To me, that's the number 1 reason why students don't have assignments on the due date. They don't write them down, and when it's time to turn them, they're like whaaaaaatt?
Q5: If you could change anything about high school, what would it be?
A: Well, definitely our start time, hahaha. I would change it to at LEAST 8:15, and I think students would like it and benefit from the start time change as well. Also, I feel like there should be a good mix of getting business done, but also having fun in high school. But on a national scale, I´d wish for all schools to have the adequate and necessary funding and resources to make school engaging for students across the nation.
Q6: If you could have a magic want and have any career in the world, other than the one that you have now, what would you do?
A: Honestly, I wouldn't want to have any other job. I've loved photography ever since I was little and I love to capture unique moments and look at the whole world in a different way. Plus, I get paid doing the thing that I love to do most! How lucky is that right?!
Q7: Why do you LOVE Laguna?
A: I love Laguna because of the VIBE! Students just come and ask if I need help and there are so many kind people. Right when I stepped on the campus I saw that students were / are so nice to each other, everyone is just able to be themselves and they don't have to try and be someone that they aren't. The school has so many cool academies and activities here at LC and the vibe was just great
