Source cards

Sources cards are a handy way to keep information organized. Source cards contain the following elements:

  • Author, title, and publishing information (works cited information)

  • your own brief summary about the source, i.e. what is the source about in your words.

  • a quote from the source that will be used in your essay/research paper

Tips:

  • Number source cards according to how they would appear on your works cited page

  • color code source cards for organization - by main idea support, by chronology, by importance of source
