Electronic Referral Forms are the preferred method; however, if you choose to submit a hard copy of the referral packet, please make sure that you are not providing original student work in the packet; it should be a copy of the original work.
After Referral Packet Submission
After submitting your GATE Referral Packet to the Gate Coordinator (Megan Grigsby), your packet will then be delivered to the Elk Grove Unified School District's Office. Once there, your student's referral packet will be evaluated. Referrals will be reviewed by a team at the site and district levels. Evidence submitted will be scored on a performance rubric. Families will be notified via mail of new identifications by March. If your student's referral packet does not result in your student being identified as GATE, that decision can be appealed. Should this occur, please reach out to KAMS' Gate Coordinator.
