Programs & Services

HHS administers more than 100 programs across its operating divisions. HHS programs protect the health of all Americans and provide essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves.

Support For:

• HIPAA & Your Health Rights- The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule and federal civil rights laws protect Americans’ fundamental health rights. Learn about these laws and how you can file a complaint if you believe your rights were violated or you were discriminated against.

• Health Insurance- Learn about your options for getting health insurance coverage.

• Social Services- HHS oversees programs and services that improve the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

• Prevention & Wellness- HHS agencies offer resources to help you eat smart, exercise regularly, and get routine health screenings and vaccinations.

• Providers & Facilities- Locate and compare health care providers and facilities such as clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, and dental care.

• Public Health & Safety- HHS agencies help families and individuals stay safe and informed about food, drugs, medical devices, violence prevention, and more.

• Emergency Preparedness & Response- HHS leads the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.

• Education & Training Opportunities- Find HHS education and training opportunities for health professionals and students including loans, scholarships, and training programs.

Managing Expectations

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to set up a successful learning environment for their student(s) to promote achievement and low rates of misbehavior. Students will be engaging in curriculum and learning activities at home which carries a unique set of variables for each student and their families.
