Work Permit Process:
Process for obtaining a work permit:
Get a job offer!
Print out the forms below (work permit request application)
Complete the cover letter and top portion of the request and get your parent/guardian's signature
Take the form to your new employer to sign (original signature is required)
Bring the form to your high school Career Center to process your permit. Hours are 8:00 – 3:45 pm, Monday – Friday.
Your application will be processed and you will receive the original copy of your work permit to provide to your employer.
Keep in mind the following:
If you are already 18, you do not need a work permit.
Permits are only issued for students attending EGUSD schools.
Recent graduates do not need a work permit, regardless of age. You may have to show proof of graduation to your employer (transcripts).

Career Education (formerly known as Career Technical Education, or CTE) is a term for educational programs that specialize in the skilled trades, applied arts and sciences, and modern technologies. Career Education programs are designed to improve job skills and marketability.CRC's Career Education faculty have industry experience and connections with regional employers, so they are able to design curriculum specifically to what employers are expecting. Our programs also provide students with internships, work-based learning, and industry certification opportunities.

CE programs are designed to improve job skills and marketability. Not all jobs require a bachelor’s degree or even an associate degree. Oftentimes it is the hands-on practice and job skills that will make the difference in pursuing your career path. Our CE faculty have industry experience and connections with regional employers, so they are able to design curriculum specifically to what employers are expecting. CE programs at FLC also provide students with opportunities to gain work experience through internships, work-based learning, and industry certification opportunities.
