The Edna Batey PTA is proud to recognize Ms. Sutton-Saelee, as October's Member of the Month!

Alison Sutton- Saelee is one of those amazing parents who is always willing to give her time and talents to our school. Every month, she volunteers to teach art lessons in all four of her children’s classrooms. Our students absolutely love her and get so excited when they know it’s Art Day!

Alison has also shared her knowledge with us by teaching and guiding us through incubating, hatching, and raising chicks in our classrooms—an experience our students will never forget.

Whether she’s teaching art, helping with our chicks, donating treats for classroom parties, or simply stepping in wherever she’s needed, Alison gives so generously of her time and always does it with a smile.

Alison, thank you for everything you do for our students, our teachers, and our school. Your kindness and generosity truly make a difference, and we are so fortunate to have you as part of our Bobcat family!

Please join me in congratulating Alison Sutton -Salee, our Bobcat Difference Maker of the Month!

The Edna Batey PTA is proud to recognize Mr. Rede, our incredible Vice Principal, as May’s Member of the Month! Mr. Rede consistently goes above and beyond to support our students, staff, and families with positivity, dedication, and heart. From coordinating school events and assemblies to jumping in wherever help is needed, his leadership helps make Edna Batey a fun, welcoming, and successful school community.

Students especially loved his willingness to be taped to the wall as part of celebrating our Bolt fundraising goals — a perfect example of the enthusiasm and school spirit he brings to campus every day! Thank you, Mr. Rede, for your dedication, positivity, and commitment to our Bobcats. We truly appreciate all that you do!

Thank you, Mr. Rede, for all that you do! 😘

This month, we are proud to recognize the amazing Edna Batey Front Office Staff as our PTA Members of the Month! Working tirelessly behind the scenes, they are the heartbeat of our school—keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently each and every day.

They are often the first friendly face families see, and the steady support staff relies on, answering a constant stream of questions with patience and care.

What many may not know is the countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities they juggle: maintaining student records, supporting enrollment and transfers, coordinating with district offices, managing health and emergency information, organizing schedules, troubleshooting daily challenges, and ensuring clear communication among teachers, families, and the administration. They help keep everything on track—even when the day throws the unexpected their way.

They are the unsung heroes of our school, and today, we are proudly singing their praises. Thank you for your dedication, your care, and the countless ways you support our students, staff, and families. Edna Batey is better because of you!

Thank you, Gen, Becky and Ally, for all that you do! 😘

The Edna Batey PTA is proud to recognize Moises Sandoval as our Member of the Month for January 2026, based on a heartfelt group nomination from the A Track teachers. Moises is truly a fixture at Batey—an involved and dependable volunteer who consistently shows up for students, staff, and the broader school community. As a parent of a 6th grader and a 1st grader, his involvement spans years and grade levels, and his willingness to help goes far beyond his own children’s classrooms.

Teachers across campus shared stories of Moises’s incredible support. He has volunteered regularly in classrooms from kindergarten through sixth grade, often offering help even before his children were students in those classes. This year, he played a key role in supporting a large-scale Apple Mummification lab, bringing materials, assisting all 58 students, and staying afterward to clean up and even help reset cafeteria tables. Teachers consistently note that he checks in proactively to see where help is needed and can be counted on without hesitation.

Moises’s impact extends well beyond the classroom. He is a familiar and trusted presence in the lunchroom, office, playground, Batey Mart, and throughout campus. Whether helping students feel comfortable making a purchase, supporting teachers long after his own children have moved on, or stepping in wherever needed, Moises leads with kindness, reliability, and a genuine love for the Batey community. He exemplifies the spirit of service and partnership that makes our school such a special place, and we are grateful for all that he does.👏

Thank you, Moises, for all that you do! 😘

I am proud to nominate Katrina Saleen as Edna Batey PTA’s Member of the Month. As a former PTA President, Katrina led our association through the COVID years—arguably the most difficult time to keep a PTA active and engaged. Her leadership, creativity, and resilience kept our Bobcat community connected when it mattered most. Even after her terms in formal board roles ended, Katrina has continued to step up as a true school rockstar, always lending her time, energy, and passion to support events and lift up our students, families, and staff. She is an incredible example of what it means to be dedicated to our school, and is absolutely deserving of this recognition.👏
