Why do I need to provide a SS# when doing the LRCC application?
Providing your SS# is for your safety- it is a unique identifier along with your date of birth.
This starts your college transcript and it is key to have correct educational records.
Confidentiality- with this unique identifier using a SS# is vital, so no wires are crossed amongst students.
SS# is housed by the State of California and there has never been a SS# breach with
CCC-Apply.
SS# is used in the creation of the CCC-Apply account. It will not be asked for again (only in the case of a forgotten password/password retrieval).
You do not need to provide the SS# to EGUSD, it will be used only by you in account creation.
What if I don’t have a SS#?
There are experts at every community college that can assist students impacted by undocumented status. If a student submits a CRC application without a SS#, they will need to request that their application be processed.

How many classes can I take?
Approved students may enroll in up to 11 units per fall/spring term districtwide
When can I start taking Dual Enrollment classes?
You can start taking classes when you are 14 or have started 9th grade
Can I take classes at 2 different community colleges?
Yes, you will need to fill out a Special Admit form for each community college.
Can I take a Math or English class?
Yes, if you meet the college enollment requisites. LRCC math and english classes are for enrichment and will not go on your high school transcript.
Can I take a class for remediation?
No, community college classes will not be added to your high school transcript.
Will this class go on my high school transcript?
No, community college classes will not be added to your high school transcript.
Who can sign my completed application?
Your high school counselor can sign your completed application.
Can my parent call the community college and take care of business for me?
No. Under Section 49061 of the Education Code, parents of community college students do not have a right of access to their children's student records, regardless of whether the student is under the age of 18. This includes special admit students.
