WELCOME TO EGHS
The East Greenwich High School Music Department is dedicated to fostering creativity, self-expression, and artistic excellence. Through a diverse range of instrumental, vocal, and music technology courses, we provide students with the opportunity to explore their musical passions, develop technical skills, and collaborate with peers in meaningful ways.
Our program emphasizes the power of music as a universal language, allowing students to engage in performance, composition, and critical listening while building confidence, discipline, and teamwork. Whether students aim to pursue music professionally or simply wish to enrich their lives through musical exploration, our courses cater to all levels and interests.
From ensemble-based experiences in Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble to individualized studies in Digital Music Production, Piano, and Music Theory, our curriculum ensures a comprehensive and immersive experience. With a focus on both classical traditions and contemporary trends, our students gain an appreciation for the rich cultural and historical impact of music across time and societies.
The music department also provides students with real-world performance opportunities, including concerts, festivals, and community engagements. Additionally, many of our courses offer honors credit, Early Enrollment Program (EEP) college credit, and pathway opportunities for students interested in furthering their studies in music beyond high school.
