Escape the Band Room

These are GREAT! Katy Steklac of Beach Middle School in Chelsea, MI has now created three different escape room challenges for the band classroom and they are a ton of fun. She has graciously given us permission to share them on this page. Enjoy!

Here is a message that Katy posted on the Band Directors Facebook page last year when she shared them there:

Hello!

You may recall that I have created escape rooms for my middle school students for the first day of school the last two years. After many people showed interest, including my students, I have created a third, entirely brand new set of puzzles and tasks! It has now officially been kid tested, and it was more difficult that I originally thought, but I am going to keep it the way it is!

I have also created a "teacher" guide of sorts to help you set it up if you are interested in doing this with your own students.

I am not looking to make money off of this- I just think it is more fun than a typical first day of school ice breaker, and it gets the kids thinking on the first day of school! I do ask that if you do use, please let me know! I want to know how it works for you and your students!

This will be the last one that I create because I plan to rotate them from here on out. And I am 99% sure I have no more creativity left. :)
